Closing the year

As the end of the year approaches, I consciously take time to pause. As a maker, I look back the way I look at my work: attentively, in layers, and without judgment. I observe what has emerged, which choices were guided by intuition, and where I adjusted along the way. Every project, collaboration, and moment has left traces that together form the story of this year.
Reflection is a creative process for me. I don’t analyze only with my mind, but also with feeling. What resonated? What felt unresolved or out of tune? In those questions, I discover why certain decisions felt right while others caused friction. These insights guide my next steps: I refine my artistic voice, let go of what no longer aligns with my vision, and choose authenticity more deliberately.
From this clarity, I look ahead. I see the future as a blank canvas—not a fixed plan, but a space full of possibilities. With the lessons of the past year as an underlying layer, I allow myself to explore new forms, take risks, and leave room for the unexpected. In this way, the end of the year becomes not an ending, but a transition: from reflection to creation, from experience to renewal.
I would like to thank my musical friends for all the inspiration we exchanged over the past 12 months. Looking ahead, I see new projects on the horizon with my dear partner in crime, George De Decker, as well as plenty of trio work with my closest musical companions.
The coming year feels like one of both endings and beginnings — a time of closing chapters and starting anew, of renewal and of saying goodbye where needed. I’m truly looking forward to all that lies ahead and to sharing these exciting moments together.
For now, I wish you all warm days, a well-deserved rest, and an excellent start to 2026.
